What Are runDisney Start Groups or Corrals?
When I registered for my first race, I just put some random time down for proof of time because I truly had NO idea how long it would take me to do 13.1 miles.
And then I found out about runDisney corrals and how proof of time actually mattered.
I’ll admit there was some panic going on and a scramble to submit an old 10K time for corral placement for that first half.
Which, by the way, in 2011 a 1:18 10K got me in corral B y’all.
Seasoned runDisney peeps are sitting there laughing their heads off right about now.

I know. I was shocked back then too, and it still amuses me now.
If you’re new to racing, you probably want to know what a corral is and why it is important to submit a proof of time.
Running a smaller local race might mean people line up wherever they want. Nothing is predetermined.
Usually, faster people end up in the front and slower folks drift toward the back.

But that doesn’t always work out and there can be a little bit of craziness happening at the start.
Larger races, like runDisney events, will have more guidance and enforcement for where you should line up.
In the case of runDisney, it’s by your estimated finish time – which is proven by a previously run race.
