runDisney: We’re Not A Cult (OK, Maybe We Are, But Let Me Explain…)

If you found your way to this page, you’re likely looking for information about the cult– errrr- experience that is runDisney in 2025.

Hi. I’m sooo glad you’re here. Welcome to our community. I’m Patty and I’ve been running Disney almost exclusively since 2011. Listen, there are other races out there, and I’ve tried a few. But I quickly learned that what makes my dopamine centers light up during a race required character stops, theme park routes, and costumed runners along the course.

First things first, I do not speak on behalf of that magical company in any way, shape or form. This is good for you and probably them. If you’re looking for unbiased and pure information about running at Disney World or Disneyland, you’re in the right place.

Sorta.

I’ll admit that I’ve snorted the pixie dust over the years and definitely do have a bias toward taking trips to Disney in general. But I recognize that these experiences are not for everyone and shouldn’t be forced upon everyone. I’m going to hold your hand when I say gently, this may not be the community for you.

How’s that for a terrible cult leader?

To be further and fully transparent, I am a travel agent that makes money from commissioned trips that you book through me to Disney. If I can help book you and make the planning part of the process a little easier to understand, please let me know.

While I snort the pixie dust, I’m also candid about what might be worth it for your family, and what probably won’t be. I won’t BS you on anything when it comes to the best way to spend YOUR vacation time and money.

That brings us to why runDisney? Why would you want to train and travel and spend a crapton of money to run “magical” highway miles? That, my new runDisney friends, is where No-Guilt Magic takes over.

This is the space where I’ll be answering questions relating to the history of runDisney, the experiences you can expect, the reasons you may want to try this community out- and the reasons why you may want to run away from all things runDisney completely. I will call shenanigans when the company does the wrong thing by their runners.

If that sounds like something you’d like to be part of, welcome and take a seat next to me. You can find updates to these posts in the Facebook group for No-Guilt Disney We’re pretty chill in there (no, really, haven’t had a single dramatic flounce from the group in over 4 years!).
